I'm ready to go home
I came down here to help the FL democrats, and wound up sitting out the whole day. I'm tickled that Obama took the state but very sad that Prop 2 passed.

And now, after cracking my head open, putting my brother's car in the body-shop, taking my self out of action on election day, and generally inconveniencing my Florida family... I'm headed home today.

My brother gave me a staple remover to bring w/ me to the airport in case I have a hard time getting through security w/ these staples in my head.

I want to sleep in my own bed.

I want to hug my son.

I want to be done w/ all the forms and paperwork and insurance claims and police reports.

I want the sound of impact to be erased from my memory.

And I feel downright stupid for feeling all of this... as it could have been monumentally worse. I am going home. I will hug my son. My brother's car will be fixed.

Thank goodness.

1. aww sweety.....
you should not feel stupid for feeling this way at all..

you were in a car accident which is a shock both physically and emotionally....

and it will take time to heal both

I was in a horrific accident when I was 14.... if we didn't hit the tree I would be dead....

hugging your son and sleeping in your bed will be some of the best medicine you could take

5. You'll be fine with the staples
So far nobody has hid a bomb inside their head. In fact, they'll probably disallow the stapler remover instead.

8. MissMillie!
I am glad to hear you are doing OK, this is the first I had heard of your car wreck. You NEED to get back home to your own home and be with your son. Not a stupid feeling at all, it's natural after being through all that.
