What do I do? I have a gay friend(says he bisexual but he hates
women)and he's going to vote for Nader, says that Democrats dont deserve his vote and that maybe the empire should fail because of bush. Not only is he gay he's also black, double whammy minority. We're good friends but he's intractable on this issue. The funny thing he's also extremely bright and very knowledgeable on politics.

7. Well
Ask him if there is a local politician he would be willing to support in the Democratic party.

I'm feeling disenfranchised with the party myself but that won't stop me from supporting my local Congressman. What we need to do is rebuild the Democratic party from within, and this starts on the ground floor. In my county, for instance, we have admirable members of the county council who are black, gay or hispanic. They got there because they mobilized the minority communities for support. A decade ago I worked on the campaign for the first woman Congressperson from my state. Women and blacks made up the bulk of volunteer workers in the Democratic Party in the county. She won.

Anyone who hates all women (or men, for that matter) has a mental problem. Not many gays feel that way. I've had plenty of gay friends in my life and they're very fond of their women friends. If this person is overwhelingly bitter about something how can they be a positive influence in your life?
