If you made a large deposit in a credit union, and the teller was very rude...
and then, the next day when you called to complain about the teller, that person (the customer service agent) was rude, would you withdraw your money?

I've f*ing had it with being treated like crap by financial institutions.

2. yes although with this caveat
I can't stand Wells Fargo, however I have so many automatic payments and direct deposit that it will be a major hassle to switch. So I suck it up due to laziness, but if I just put money in (with no strings so to speak) and I was treated poorly, then hell yes I would leave with my money

and that's why I went back to the credit union. Now I remember why I didn't like the credit union. Sigh.

7. Hell, yes.
I had major problems with a bank called First Union. They were invariably rude and deliberately made life difficult for their poorest clients, like me.

So when I got the chance, I pulled my money out and took it elsewhere.

First Union in turn bought out other banks and became Wachovia, and now they're in the toilet. I saved myself a lot of concern by voting with my wallet.

One thing I've learned over the years is that poor service is almost always symptomatic of far larger internal problems.

8. hehehehe First f'n Union... them bastards.
My first ever check I wrote on the account... they bounced.

Was to the INS of all people, so that was real fun. Their reason for denying it? They needed to verify the deposited funds... but guess what I deposited? Cold, hard... CASH. They needed to apparently verify the authenticity of the individual banknotes apparently.

Yes, they morphed into Wachovia, ruined a good bank's name.

Mark.

16. rude in what way?
my answer kind of depends on what actually happened

if you made a large deposit and the teller was forced to explain to you some shit you didn't want to hear, i would not automatically assume that she wanted to explain the shit or that she was being intentionally rude -- there are complicated hassles that go w. depositing large checks (i've had to sit thru a long explanation of when i could withdraw what when before) but equally complicated hassles that go w. depositing large amts of cash (this at a tiny branch where they were not used to filing CTRs or dealing w. cash and i pretty much had to walk the lady thru the paperwork myself, it was for gambling winnings, so yeah it was cash -- she wasn't being deliberately rude nor was she deliberately accusing me of being a money launderer, she was simply overwhelmed at trying to figure out what she was supposed to do to comply w. federal regs beyond her control and mine)

if your teller was rude because she was on the rag and just being rude to be rude, rather than feeling frustrated at trying to explain something complicated, yeah, i would STRONGLY consider going elsewhere if my complaint to upper management went unheard

but if it was a misunderstanding and then the manager backed up her employee, i'd probably just let it roll off

your call, i wasn't there, you were

20. I'll explain how the teller was rude
I wanted to deposit money into my own account - an account in my name only - instead of my husband's name. Because my husband with with me, and because there was some sort of extra work involved (on the teller's part) to reactive my "dormant" individual account, the teller rolled her eyes, sighed, and even asked me *twice* why I couldn't just deposit it into the other account. It didn't bother me at first, but as I drove away from the credit union, and even today, it started to nag at me. I mean, how dare she? And, how lazy was that? :grr:

Anyway, I've already decided to withdraw the money and put it elsewhere.

17. Yes, *AND*
send copies of the deposit and withdrawal receipts to corporate headquarters.

Be sure to send a copy of the slip (sans account number, o/c) from your subsequent deposit to their competitor. Explain why in a professionally-worded letter.

Richguys *hate* when their subordinates cost them money.

somebody even higher than that... and threaten to pull your money out, and they'll likely bend over backwards to be nice to you.

19. complain
In a Credit Union you own shares in the bank and as an owner you have the right to expect proper treatment.

23. That's what I thought
But then I remembered... there was an issue with their tellers, many years ago, when I used to use them. I don't remember even what it was, but I remember I left there for a reason.
