Woohoo! I get to be out of my element on Saturday!
I said I'd go to my buddy Kurt's party this Saturday. This is basically going to be all the people I grew up with and have known for years. I love them all, but I'm just different. They all live in the burbs and drink beer, work on cars, and talk about plans for the house.
I am a downtown guy. I like hitting the theatre, going to seedy bars and bitchin' about the conservatives whilst sipping on some weird foreign drink. I don't work on cars cause I really on the Skytrain.

I just moved out of a 15th floor apartment and am at my folks as I look for something new. Because I'm so close I can't really find an excuse not to go.

I just don't have anything to talk about and I have no idea how I'll survive the night! I'd best learn about brake pads quickly :-(

The other bitch is THEIR friends. My friends are cool, but they bring their co-workers, many who are redneck types. So I'm gonna be defending the court system all fucking night.

1. Three words:
"Smile and nod". I've recently had to sit down with people who then went on about the US needing McCain etc. and it's just not worth it anymore. Especially people who try to raise the hair on the back of your neck using words like that, just to pick fights. Which of course is behaviour exactly like George Bush. Anyone who hasn't become ashamed of acting like that, to the point of immediate seppukku, is beyond help and should be outright ignored.

2. I suppose you're right
Still, I LOVE pointing out that their education to go to mechanics school or whatever was subsidized!
