1,000 Cheers To DU and more... |
|
Just a quick thanks to everyone at DU for operating and maintaining such a vibrant online community. There's a lot of fun and exciting things happening here and being able to share thoughts with so many people has put light in the past two years of political darkness.
My special thanks to Elad and Skinner who have the increasing burden of keeping this place going and growing. I'm feeling winds of change that I haven't in a long time and DU is a central resource to tap into it.
In honor of this 1,000 post, I'm heading to the donation page and sending $100 to help keep this place going. I think it's a nice gesture, and one that I can easily make...and I challenge others in a similar position to do the same at an appropriate milestone.
Also, my 19 year old daughter is about to get her own DU membership...next month she casts her first votes in a Democratic primary and is using DU as a valuable resource to examine the candidates and issues.
Again...cheers to all...especially my many Illinois DU friends...and may all good things be ours!

1. I agree with everything you said, my friend. |

DU is indeed a vibrant community. Part activism, part information and part fun...made so by the administrators and the members of this terrific community.
My hat's off to you, IMRadioactive. From a Illinois DU'er (in Chicago). It's people like you that makes the DU such a great place!
:hi: :-)

Looks like there's a lot of us Suburban DU'ers...a great thing to see since we're right in the snakepits of Repugnicanism. I've always thought there'd come a time a lot of us city kids would grow up and move outward and make inroads out here and I think that time is coming.
Maybe later this year we can organize a statewide DU get-together and invite those from nearby states. Even though Illinois should be one of the safest Blue states around, I want to work in getting rid of the deadwood Congresspeople...especially Phillip Crane, whom I've had to suffer with for most of the past 30 years.
Again, a heartfelt thanks to all and I look forward to exchanging ideas with all in the days ahead.
