Tell me about THIS laptop |
|
I posted a crappy laptop on sale for $300 earlier, I've found one that looks a lot better that I'm interested in. Is it worth it for $450? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115500

Acer makes a great product...if it meets your needs, than I'd say it's worth it. It is a pretty good laptop for $450.

2. I've had good luck with the AMD 64. |

I've never used an Acer though, so I don't know how it is overall. Looks like the common complaint is that they load it up with lots of junk software that you neither need nor want. Then again, the same advice from last time might apply... just give it a fresh XP install. :P

3. I have an Acer Aspire 1640. |

Love, love, LOVE it. I've had it nearly three years and it's not once given me problems. The only thing I don't like about it is that it lacks a reset button. To reset it, I have to close the case, disconnect the power supply, flip the laptop upside down, and slide the battery out enough to force a reset. But I've only very rarely had to do this.
Go for it.
