Things I miss at the store: Help me here folks.
Many great products that have been around for years are gone. Others are so altered that I now find them unacceptable.

My biggest gripe is Shampoo. Whatever happened to the good old brands like Prell and Breck. I know you still see the name but the contents are gawd-awful.

There is nothing that irks me more than seeing someone take the cap off a product to take a whiff. I now why they do this with the haircare products. I am sick of trying to buy shampoo that smells like shampoo. Today i broke my rule. I opened the caps enough to take a whiff of the contents. I came home empty handed.

All of them smelled like a tropical forest or some kind of exotic fruit. Many were vile. If I had to bet, I'd guess they are all about the same base with some exotic elixir added to make the contents smell like an overripe kiwi fruit or worse and justify a rather overinflated price.

Can someone suggest a real, non-smelly shampoo that is still affordable? I'm sick of wasting money on this stuff. In fact, I can't afford to waste.

What is your pet "I can't find it any more"?

1. "Glass Wax"
I used to get it at groceries back in the 70's and 80's. It was great to put on auto windshields. It came in a small tin, very inexpensive and great for cleaning and making your windshield sluff off rain.

2. DDT
Man, that was a great product. And asbestos - you just can't find asbestos anymore. Or lead-based paint. What the hell has happened to this country? :wtf:

3. Have you tried a Health Food store or Co-Op?
They sell nice natural shampoos that aren't disgusting, and not too overpriced, esp. compared to the grocery store. My favorite brand is Nature's Gate:

5. Prell? Hell, whatever happened to Halo?

From memory:
Halo, everybody, Halo.
Halo is the shampoo that glorifies your hair.
So, Halo, everybody, Halo.
Halo shampoo, Halo!

I also remember "P-R-E-L-L,Prell shampoo!"
