I survived my kid's 5th birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Hold me.
Nine kindergartners...at high noon on a friggin' Saturday...in the company of a giant rat...
:scared:

Whose idea was this, anyway? ...Oh yeah. Mine...

4. That's the worst part
I don't have any alcohol in the house! There's just Mr. MG's bottle of cabernet, which I don't like very much. I suppose I could break out the ice wine, but since my stomach is rebelling against the Chuck E. Cheese pizza, that might not be a good idea... :puke:

5. I did, I did!
But as I just posted above--I got no booze! D'oh! Maybe I'll pilfer some leftover Halloween candy--chocolate is almost as good. (I'll just keep telling myself that till I believe it.)

can't wait to give the 14 year olds the beat down, my daughter has been smack talking me all day but she's not good in laser tag and i am, thanks for taking me to the rifle range when i was a kid Dad!. I imagine they're will be a ton of kids there for other parties and since i'm driving there won't be any drinking.

Chaos and more chaos. I will admit that the waitstaff in charge of each party are SAINTS. I tipped ours $15. Would have given her more, but that was all the cash we had on us (the credit card receipt didn't have a spot to add a tip, which was weird).

And saw one hell of a brawl at Chuck E's. He was up in a tube above the fight watching like it was TV.

I'll never forget it. (he may not either)

25. I think I'd opt for doggie day care over CEC
Glance around at Chuckie's and you see kids with their fingers up their noses (up to their elbows), then grabbing the joysticks of the games, then immediately retiring to their tables to eat, then back to the games. Ick.

30. My dear , you should have posted your intentions before
we could have warned you.

I'll never forget taking my daughter and 15 of her friends to CEC for her eighth. It was a long time past. They all piled into my horse trailer pullin' rig on top of all the hay and tack and etc. At least there was a shell on the truck bed. And thank God that I had a woman friend (daughter's horse trainer actually)who volunteered to come along. I never would have made it alone. (she actually said while getting dressed, "I'm coming with--- you'll never make it alone!")

CEC was just a giant blur of pandemonium, pizza, birthday cake and flying quarters; the only thing that made it bearable was they served beer. Post party; I cancelled my Saturday night plans and went to bed, completely spent.

34. That sounds like it!
I am shocked and dismayed that the CEC near us doesn't serve beer. I mean, how do they expect us to function?!

I recall thinking, as the hour and a half passed in a blur, that the only thing that went by in a bigger haze was our wedding and reception. On the way home from CEC this afternoon, I turned to Mr. MG and whispered "What just happened...?"

32. But isn't it all you can eat pizza ? Just go with the flow!
I remember another chain like them called Celebration Station where the food and sodas were endless ( don't think they are around anymore ). Just order two more pizzas from them and what you don't eat, take it home!

If you have some pot...it's great for that later on in the evening

35. No, not at CEC
The pizza is quite expensive, and the price is per pie. Two for the kids was included in the party price, and two larges for the parents who stuck around. It was $$. We did take the leftovers home, but since I got a bit ill from the pieces I had there, I think the rest are going to be donated to the trash monster. The cake wasn't half bad, however--deep dark chocolate with two inches of frosting.

Alas, we have no mind-altering substances of any kind in the house...unless you count the cake...

37. That was our even more unpleasant alternative
A bunch of kids in our house, in cold weather (= no outside time), but we're in the middle of major renovations--we're talking bare lath, exposed beams, and lots of power tools lying around just asking to be grabbed. :scared:

38. Oh gods love her I hope she's well paid
Our hostess had to grab the rat and point out my son, who was about six inches from him (her?), because the person in the rat costume couldn't even see that close up. Come to think of it, I should have asked for some tip money to go to that person too...didn't think of it... :(
