Wow, what a piece of crap that "Dream girls" movie is.
I thought it was about the supremes or something. It was just about some made up group... and the music in it sounds nothing like what was coming out of motown back then. It sounded more like seventies funk with that modern wailing woman sound that's so popular with the kids.

Thumbs fucking down.

1. Disagree completely.
Great movie. Possibly the best translation of a musical to a movie ever, IMO. Eddie Murphy should have won the Oscar for his performance.
If you knew anything about the play you would know that it was verrry loosely based on the story of the supremes.
And actually I think the music is a pretty good representation of motown but remember its also based on a BROADWAY MUSICAL.
Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce really made that movie though.

4. I liked it. It wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be. But it was fine. Well worth renting if you
like that kind of music.

5. I think it's really good -- and it is abaout the Supremes in a roman a clef way
Everybody in it was good -- Hudson deserved her Oscar. And, I LOATHE Neyonce, but she was credile (although Diana Ross NEVER would have been so selfless!).

I totally understand not liking that type ofmovie, but for its genre, I thought it was quite good -- and I'm not a musical person (hated "Moulin Rouge").
