GAH! $120 Speeding ticket this morning! |
|
Well, the speeding was for 70 bucks. I was leaving the club where the band played and got caught doing 36 in a 25 zone. Vroom, vroom! I got an extra 50 tagged on for having an expired drivers license. Dammit! I haven't had a ticket in 9 years. Looks like I paid ten dollars to play at McGuffy's. bah.

1. Thank-you for not drinking & driving. |
|
Think of the fines & hassle if you had been drinking at McGuffy's and gotten busted for DUI?

3. I was actually a little disappointed |

I had hoped to get a breathalyzer test, because I knew I'd pass it. I'd had a few beers, but the last one was at around 9:30 PM and I got popped at 3:00 AM. On the weekends, I'm paranoid about having more than a couple. Gotta stay safe.

7. Ah, he was just doing his job. |

I come from a family of cops, and he seemed like a nice enough guy. I was tired and not paying attention. It looked like it should've been a 35 zone...
It was funny. After I told him that I was leaving from a gig, he asked my band's name. I told him and he said "Hey, I've heard of you guys!"

My last ticket was for doing 59 in a 50. Stupid South Vienna speed traps.

I think I was clocked going 76 in a 65 mile zone. Stupid of me, but what can you say. I got a $200 fine. Reeediculous.

Though I don't have any room to talk. I speed whenever I have a wide-open road. And I live in the Atlanta area where no one does the speed limit. If you are traveling at 70, which is the speed limit on most interstates, you will be tail-gated.

9. Yeah, Atlanta's nuts like that. |

Last time I was driving through on I-75, I had to stay at around 85-90 MPH to keep from causing a pile-up.
I've been known to open it up on isolated stretchs of highway before (Had my current car up to 120 after I bought it), but I seem to only get caught when I'm just not paying attention. Usually in the wee hours of the morning.
