An Officer and a Former Actor/Singer

Posted Nov 9th 2008 4:05AM by TMZ Staff

The 65-year-old resurfaced working as a San Bernardino County sheriff deputy, looking official.

Bobby's last acting credit was in 1986.

Sherman built a one-fifth scale model of Disneyland's Main Street in his yard.

2. What about David Cassidy ... Hmmm?
*crosses arms, taps foot*

David was the crush of choice of my sister and myself.

3. Hey--I remember the DeFranco Family, so don't EVEN get up in my face, child!
David was ok, but I really had it bad for Donnie for some unfathomable reason.

I also liked Peter Brady, but he didn't really sing much, and that kinda limited his appeal.

___

I watch my 11 year old adoring the Jonas Brothers now, and I'm stashing away the posters for her for when she is older. Ought to be good for a few giggles, don't ya think?

9. You met (swoon!) Tony? REALLY?
OMG!!!! Is he WAY cool or what? (Let me jump up and down and shriek a bit here!) I have to ask, HOW did you manage to meet him? There has to be a story here!

_____

Funny thing about The Sylvers, I really think of them mostly as a Disco phenom because of Boogie Fever which hit a lot later. I had forgotten the stuff they had out in the early 70's.

10. They did an autograph session at a local Penney's and I won a radio contest.
I was more a Donnie girl, though--but I was the envy of my tiny town school!

11. Here's one Tiger Beat dude that did NOT turn out so well
http://www.yesbutnobutyes.com/archives/2007/01/where_are_they_24.html

Aren't mug shots just SO much fun?

"Leif Garrett (real name Leif Per Narvik) appeared in the movie Bob, Ted, Carol and Alice when he was 5 years old. He was in all 3 Walking Tall movies, and played a recurring character in ABC-TV series Family. In 1977-78 he recorded two albums with modest chart success. His most successful song was "I Was Made For Dancin'" which reached #10 on the US pop charts. He sold a lot of Tiger Beat magazines. He played himself in the 2003 David Spade movie Dickie Roberts Former Child Star.

Now in his mid-forties, Garrett was arrested on January 17, 2006 for not having a subway ticket. Narcotics were found in his possession, violating the probation of his 2005 possession conviction. In May he was sentenced to 90 days and 3 years additional probation for quitting his rehab program. He’s still performing, most recently at a New Years Eve show in Las Vegas. You can hear his music on his MySpace page..."

14. Vince quit being "cute" when he was the mean guy in The Karate Kid.
Sorry, you just don't get to beat the snot out of Chachi and be a cute guy in my book. It ain't happening.

I do have to give Vince credit, however, he seems to have avoided any serious criminal convictions AND he's still acting (assuming you are not biased against soaps, that is...)

21. That wasn't Vince van Patten

I always thought it was, too, but it was William Zabka (also the bad guy in Back To School). The two really did look very, very similar, even aside from the golden-haired late-'70s-early-'80s California look they shared.

So you can put your Vince posters back up on the wall now... :P

Or "Here Come the Brides" and its catchy theme "Seattle?"

A shame.

Sherman annoyed me for cutting into Donny's dreamy face-time.
