What's for dinnah DU?
Tonight we're having homemade chili.

1.25 lbs of ground beef
8 slices of thick-slice bacon (cut into inch strips)
1 large white onion
1 large green pepper
1 large red pepper
8 cloves of garlic, chopped
3 hot peppers (with 8 of their seeds)
1 can of Goya red kidney beans
1 large can of crushed tomatoes
1 bottle of Sam Adams Boston Lager
bacon grease
cumin
garlic powder
crushed red pepper
and possibly a squirt of sriracha sauce (the kind we have now is all hot, no sweet)

You don't want to be here a couple hours from now. Makes chili gas look tame.

20. Just drop the chicken after boiling it in the whey sauce , rice is simmered in the stock
very simple yet tasty recipe.

Not any whey will do , a special middleastern kind that is more acid is used, similar to the stuff that they make ricotta cheese from.

22. This stuff is awesome!
Sorry, no camera shots. We make it with habaneros but you could probably find Inner Beauty sauce locally. It needs a pretty strong hit of fresh, hot chiles to work with all the citrus.

21. But of course. It's really easy!
Spinach Lasagna

2 eggs, beaten
1 container ricotta cheese (or you can use cottage cheese)
1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach, thawed, well drained (I microwave it to thaw it)
3 cups (or more if you like) shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 jar pasta sauce
Lasagna noodles (I get the kind you don't have to cook first)

HEAT oven to 350°F. Mix eggs, cottage cheese, spinach, 2 cups mozzarella and 1/4 cup parmesan.

LAYER 1 cup pasta sauce, 3 lasagna noodles and 1/2 the cottage cheese mixture in 13x9-inch baking dish. Repeat layers. Top with remaining noodles, sauce and cheeses.

BAKE 45 min. or until heated through. Let stand 10 min. before serving.

:hi:

was HOT) a spinach salad

Probably it will be the leftover Chile Verde, when I ever get hungry. Had a nice long lunch at Gloria's, which is Honduran food ..so we had eggs with potatoes, black beans and pico and of course chips etc. It was good plentiful food.

Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 07:03 PM by deadparrot
baked in chicken broth and dijon mustard, with a touch of allspice.

The kielbasa's been sitting in my fridge since I bought it as a "buy one, get one" deal at the supermarket, so I figured I'd use it before it went bad.

45. Low calorie heaven
My wife got the recipe from a Jillian McKeith cookbook. I have never made it myself, but I believe she boils two medium cubed potatoes with a head of lettuce. Once it's really soft she purees it with a garlic clove and adds some chicken broth to it. Add black pepper and you have some of the tastiest soup ever made. It is way better than it sounds.

My wife has also made variations of this substituting corn for the lettuce. Then she makes a third version where she uses yams instead of potatoes and then adds butternut squash and carrots. All of them pale in comparison to the lettuce soup, in my opinion. I could eat that every night.
