7. I don't know your situation at all, but... |
|
If you were on SSDI, they would send you the Medicare stuff. That surprises me about AARP!

2. I remember my Dad getting them in his 40s. |
|
But he and his father have the same name, so they might have thought he was in his 90s.

6. As I recall, I started getting them when I was about 50. I joined for 1 year, |
|
mainly for the discounts, and I was inundated with junk mail for offers on merchandise, insurance, vacations, you name it. I never renewed and am still receiving mail from them several years later.
It seems I've crossed another threshold lately as I've been receiving mail about scooters!

And junk mail pushing burial insurance. Jeez, people! My hair may be gray, but in the words of Monty Python, I'm not dead yet! I'm not even old enough for Medicare, alas.

I actually tried to join when I was 40 because they had an incredible geneology library in town that was free to AARP members. By the time I was eligible to join, the library was gone. nuts.

14. I get one every two months |
|
or so. I just turned 60 and have been getting them for 12-13 years. I tear them apart with my teeth before casting them into the dust bin.

But that was back in the 80's. I figured they would have a more up to date database by now.
