How many e-mails would you say you get each day?

I'm curious what sort of numbers other folks get each day. I do most of my work communication via e-mail, which is amazing considering how much I'm on the phone anyway. All told, between work, personal and my rescue I get a lot. It's making me a bit bonkers, I think.

1. 200-300. HOWEVER, a lot of them are list serv emails

and don't warrant more than a passing glance.

2. That's why I keep several different email accounts

One is strictly business, one is for mundane things like accounts and payments, one is personal and one is ..... I'm not sure what that one is for.

Anyway, all told I probably get between 20 - 25 a day. I've pared it down quite a lot.

3. 35ish, plus untold numbers that hit my spam box without passing Go.

More some days than others- for example I was getting a lot more pre-election between local activist stuff and various campaigns hitting me up for money- but 30ish on average in my main account, maybe 5 in my side account.

4. Personally...not that many

At work...tons..usually candidate seminars,scientific seminars, departmental meetings, etc...being an employee at a large company means lots and lots of generic announcement e-mails probably 10-20 per day on just routine stuff.

7. Maybe 50, tops. Most of it is junk, even with my spam filter.

8. Incoming 200-300

By the time they get through my filters, about 30. But I use 7 different boxes, depending on the purpose.

The majority are spam and FreeCycle emails. The rest are newsletters and a handful of other mailing lists.

Between work and personal, I would say around 40 give or take.
