2. It's not the size that matters.
It's what you do with the batteries that count.

you want Lithium 123s. Most uh... bang for the buck, so to speak.

12. HP-25 aka "Woodstock"

What model did you have? From the price I would guess a 35?

I sold my original 25 in college in order to afford a 41 but I found a replacement years ago on the Internets (pre eBay) for $25. It took a custom battery pack but I converted it to accept AAs.

HP's first pocket calculator.

1972-1975
Price: $395 when it was introduced in '72, reduced to $295 when the HP-45 was introduced in '73.

18. I take it that you no longer have it
If it had the "red dot" power indicator it was quite rare and probably worth $1K today.

20. no, in fact, my idiot roommate at the time
threw it at the TV when some republican ad was on.. probably for Bob Dole for Senate (I went to KU) and cracked the case, so in fit of acid-inspired frenzy, I made a case out of balsa wood and used it like that for several years. I think I probably tossed it once it was clear that computers were here to stay.

Constantly disappointed with AAAs. There's always some weird gadget that takes them and I never have any around.
