WOMEN... About your shoes and your bra...
Edited on Wed Nov-12-08 01:31 AM by Gilligan
I worked in advertising for many years, now I am a stay at home Mom.. When I went to a 9-5 kind of job, when I walked in the door - the first thing I would do is take off my shoes. Next the bra is off... fuck the bra... hate it! Every woman I know does the same thing... A good friend of mine is a police detective - She is ripping her bra off the second she walks in the house... I have seen her in a black SWAT uniform coming in from the firing range and that bra goes off as soon as she can get her bullet proof vest off... No matter what line of work, we can't take wearing that uncomfortable thing for one more second...

I want to know... Do you women, here at DU do the same thing or is it just the women I know?

1. Shoes, definitely...
bra, not so much. Depends on the one I'm wearing. If my cups runneth over, it's gone.

6. I'll walk ya through it...
1. reach one hand up and unclasp
2. reach hand up arm of shirt and slide strap off (then do the other side)
3. pull bra out through arm of shirt (whichever side you prefer)

Old summer camp trick;)

11. easy peasy
unhook, pull one strap out of your sleeve and unhook it from over your arm, then grab the other strap and pull (allowing the 'free' side to pull along) the whole thing out of your other sleeve, or unhook your arm and pull bra out of shirt from the collar or from the waist

try it a couple times, it's easy

59. I see you women explaining it, and I have had it demonstrated in slow-motion
so that I might grasp its essentials, but I have yet to even begin to become one with the Zen of this ecdysical action. No matter how I might try -- and I'm thinking of getting a mannequin just so I can practice this ancient art -- the entire concept and the physical execution thereof continues to elude me. And, yes, I swear that's all I intend to do with the mannequin.

I can't think of a male analog in terms of how arcane this knowledge and ability is -- perhaps the ability to not ask for directions, no matter how lost we might be (admittedly, I betray my gender on this one, but my testosterone is oddly subservient to rationality...sometimes) -- but I can't help but wonder if this is not some kind of feminine magic trick designed to remind us that we are aberrations with our Y chromosomes and a sort of reminder that there's a certain strength that accompanies such things as childbirth and wearing high heels. Your people scare me with such parlor tricks. I am terrified that, after doing the pulling-the-bra-through-one-sleeve routine, you might make the sun go away.... :scared:

58. When I'm out, I have to have a bra on...
.... and when I have to run to grab the phone with my bra off I usually have to make a StopsEmFromFloppin' out of my arms to keep it from being painful.

But as long as I'm not doing aerobics or running, it's more comfortable to not have a bra on for me. I'm a 36 DDD and I only feel supported in an underwire, but those things hurt when they stay on too long! (Or when the wire is trying to come out of the band... ooooooowwwwwch!)

31. I don't feel dressed if I am not wearing my bra
I HATE walking around with my boobs unrestrained. They're not even that ginormous, either - but I hate not wearing a bra, unless I am going to bed. I can't sleep in a bra. But I don't feel fully awake without one on, either. Even if I am not going anywhere, I will put on a bra, just because it makes me feel more put together and less, er, bouncy.

38. I can untit a bra in 4 seconds without taking my shirt off.
Edited on Wed Nov-12-08 02:29 AM by Jamastiene
I despise a damn bra. Whoever invented those torture devices never had boobs or they wouldn't have made them the way they are made. Women with big'uns should sue the bra companies for cut shoulders and bad backs. I know. I used to have both cut shoulders and a bad back before my reduction surgery.

Before that, the bra started coming off before I got out of the car. In one fell swoop, I can reach back with my left hand, unhook the bra, reach my right hand under the sleeve of my shirt, pull that side out by the strap, then when I pull the other side, it slides right out and I hurl the torture device as far from me as I can make it go.

Men get sagging testicles and sometimes get big titties too. Why isn't there a such thing as a ball bra or a moob bra? Why must women be tortured this way? Why aren't men required to wear ball bras and moob bras? A bra in an insult after injury, I tell ya. I swear it is. It's cruelty.

I am counting the nanoseconds until someone with mosquito bites replies and says they don't mind bras at all and don't see what the big deal is. :eyes:

Pardon my extreme sarcasm here, but I truly despise a damn bra. Burn 'em. Burn 'em all. No more bras.

44. My nose, fingers, and toes get cold.
But the rest of me doesn't. My hands will get so cold they feel like they are going to bust if anything hits them too hard, and my nose gets cold, but then the rest of me is toasty warm. It's very strange. I could wear shorts and gloves at the same time and it would feel just about right. Put a coat on me and I get hot, but my hands still stay cold.

47. I have real problems with my feet.
I am allergic to nylon and most socks have nylon in them. My mother recently found socks made out of (I'm not kidding) bamboo. Believe it or not, they are the least HOT socks I have ever had. What I mean by HOT is that when nylon comes into contact with my skin, it heats up REALLY hot, feels like it is on fire, and turns the reddest red I have ever seen. I don't really have any other allergies, but the nylon allergy really reacts with me.

Even with the bamboo socks though, I don't care for wearing shoes at all. So, when I have to wear them, they come off as soon as I can. Once I'm inside, nothing is cold. My aunt stays cold and I stay hot, indoors, because she wins the thermostat "compromise." The way the house is situated, my aunt's room gets the early morning sunlight and my room gets the evening sunlight, which is hotter here. It reduces the heating costs a lot, but it makes it too hot for me sometimes. So, my feet can handle the cold much better than my hands can. The rest still stays pretty comfortable though.

52. My toes are cute, but they need some sort of toe bra, I think.
They are long and slender. They are cute until I wrap them around something in the dark. Then, they throb and swell and no amount of four letter words makes the pain go away at first. I have a tendency to stub my toes a lot. The poor things. I've never actually broken any of them, though. So, they are nice and straight. :P

Could NOT stand the feeling of being without. UGH. Now, I'm more eager to whip 'em off.

Shoes, though, NO. I'm the one at the clothing-optional pagan festival wearing the combat boots and nothing else. My feet are just TOO sensitive and vulnerable to go uncovered, no matter what time of year it is. I've never had a pedicure and never will because I can't stand to have them touched.

57. When I was a teen, I slept in my bra....
... because I'm well-endowed and I was told that would keep them from sagging as quickly.

The best night's sleep of my life came when I decided to ignore that. Yeah, my boobs sag, but when you're a natural DDD you can't help it!

I wear Birkenstocks, and my shoes always come off in the garage. When I am wearing lace-ups or boots, they come off first thing as soon as I can get sat down to take them off.

Bra *always* comes off the moment I get inside. Gotta love being able to get your arms inside your shirt and take off your bra without having to take off your shirt! :)

61. Absolutely!
The shoe thing is a given - I don't like shoes in the house - but the bra thing, too. I never wear one when relaxing at home, or any other time where it isn't de rigeur. They SUCK, like stockings which I also abhor but must wear in the workplace because I prefer skirts to pants.

I'm not going back out again, so we need to make plans before the bra's off (before I get home). I'm not putting the bra back on to go out again, if I've just ripped it off after a long day. Every woman I know does this, so no it's not just you. This thread is just hilarious.

66. Shoes for sure. Bra, no, not at all. I keep it on all the time except for when I sleep.
It's uncomfortable for me to be braless because I have a big chest. But I also REFUSE to wear underwire. No way, no how.

67. I hate, hate, hate bras!

ALthough I suppose it's possible that some of us simply have never had one that was truly comfortable and exactly the right size. ;)

I prefer those camisoles with a built in shelf-bra.
