2. That was the same film in which Robert Mitchum actually changed expression.
You have to go frame-by-frame, but it's there.

5. His face moved in Scrooged
But he also turned his head at around the same time, so maybe it was just gravity.

6. Body Heat? He certainly didn't seem bored in that movie.
Hottest R-rated movie I was allowed to watch on HBO as a teen.

8. Forgot about that one--good call.
I think that he also appeared to be interested in Altered States, but he was probably just annoyed that Ah-Ha would later copy his down-the-hall scene in their Take on Me video.

19. Body Heat was HOT.
And he definitely was neither bored nor depressed (at least until the end).

20. LOL, I can't think of one
I was going to say "Altered States," but upon further examination he is both in that. "Big Chill" doesn't qualify. His latest work, "Syriana," doesn't qualify.

I'm at a loss.

21. His latest work IIRC is The Incredible Hulk
And even in the face of a ton of gamma-irradiated fury, he still manages to be bored and depressed.

22. Altered States? Eyewitness? Children of a Lesser God? Lost City?
Edited on Wed Nov-12-08 09:21 PM by McCamy Taylor
William Hurt is bored and depressed because he is a better actor with more charisma and a better voice than almost any of the other actors with whom he is forced to work. I have not seen him in anything that has challenged him in years.

23. Wait--let me kiss his ring
I liked him in Smoke, but in anything else I don't find him particularly charismatic. And it's no good playing the "too cool for school" card, because it doesn't hold water; plenty of actors are plenty good, and somehow they manage to mix up their performances now and then.

YMMV, of course.
