Poll question: Favorite cinematic portrayal of Elizabeth I?

I went with Judi Dench ("Have a care with my name; you'll wear it out"). Classy.

3. I voted for Cate Blanchette
But you forgot Glenda Jackson

Elizabeth R is now on DVD. It was an 8 or 9 part production for PBS done in the 70s, I think. I go back and forth between Cate and Glenda for the best portrayal. But, truth be told, all of them are excellent.

4. Glenda Jackson, "Elisabeth R", PBS in 1971 easily beats ALL of them
It was really a great miniseries, and much more in depth than any of the recent movies.

13. That's what I was going to say.
Tough as nails and smart. That's how I imagine Good Queen Bess to have been.

11. GMTA :)
though, technically, it was an 'actor' - Quentin Crisp (on the left) is a male. He was quite a fascinating man.

And no putting yourself down!!
