Chimpanzee earns her stripes as a foster mother by caring for two white tiger cubs

Gently easing a bottle of milk into the cub's mouth, Anjana clearly demonstrates her skill at her job.

What makes this so unusual is that Anjana is a chimpanzee and her charges are two white tiger cubs.

The pictures from a Miami zoo show the doting chimpanzee tenderly feeding two-month-old Mitra and Shiva and cuddling up with them at nap time.
The caring chimp is stepping in to help while the cubs are temporarily stay at a Miami animal park - separated from their mother who lives at a zoo in South Carolina.
