Why I hate my insurance company: part brazillion

So I'm still fighting them about the interferon..The Mayo people resubmitted my paperwork last week which showed my platelets down to about 700...but that was last month..
Since I've been off it..yesterday I had a count about 1,300. Well even the doc who is skeptical about interferon is now convinced I should be back on it. What do I have to have a stroke before these bean counters will give me my meds? I'm so tired of this shit. And it could be another couple of weeks before I hear anything else...*sigh*. Please Obama make health care reform a priority!x( :banghead: :grr:

It seems to be turning into harassment.

I'd think about paying an attorney a few hundred bucks just to write them a letter on his letterhead. Perhaps the fuckers will back off.

3. The only reason you need to hate an insurance company: They're an insurance company.

Even though they provide a necessary service in a lot of cases, their raison d'etre seems to be to dick you around as much as possible in dealing with them.

6. Well I have to give them ONE thing

Once I got past arguing about having a pre-existing condition (by legally showing my COBRA coverage) they DID cover a great deal of my trip to Mayo..Of the $8,000+ bill I got up there I only ended up paying about $450...Its this damn "experimental" medicine that's giving me fits. And its probably why I don't have any recourse. Not approved by the FDA is a legit reason, if slimy, for denial of claim.

5. Is there a state Dept of Insurance you could contact?

They often have an advocate who can help people in your situation.

7. I hate them all.

Think about it. It's nothing but a glorified protection racket. They end up with multi-millions of dollars in profits every year while we pay hundreds of dollars a month, some of us on very measely salaries, and yet there are still some of my fellow employees who won't/can't use it because they can't afford the $15 co-pay at the doctor's office.

It's all bullshit and I wish I could talk enough people into this country into a total boycott of health insurance.
