Neighbors from He(double-hockey sticks) stories
Edited on Sat Feb-28-04 06:28 PM by POed_Ex_Repub
My neighbors downstairs are driving me nuts. In the living room they have their TV on so loud I can't hear my own TV over it. In the office (where I study and do my net surfing), they play the same reggae music... I'm talking the same album 14 hours a day, day after day after day. You'd think they'd get tired of it right? Well no... they leave it on even when they're not home from about 10am to 3am anywhere from just annoying volumes to floor-vibrating-underneath-your-feet volumes. I've already complained to the land lords once. That quieted them down for about 6 weeks, now they're back at it again.

ARRRAAAAAAAUGH!

:grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr:

OK, it's your turn. What neighbor from :evilfrown: have you had?
(I have an bad feeling my next thread is going to be a "neighbor's revenge" thread)

1. The woman down the hall is a complete *&$#^@!
She is so rude to everyone, especially the guys who work in the building. She also just dumps her garbage down the chute without even bothering to bag it first, and she doesn't even recycle her bottles. We're thinking of buying a house and moving from this building, and she's a big reason why.

2. I used to live in a backhouse behind an alcoholic..
unemployed wife beater.

the driveway to the back to my house was blocked half the time, he had at least 4 bbqs a week in the yard between our houses where the smoke would come right in my front door. I had to close my house up during the summer or my house would smell like smoke,

He'd be in the yard at night driking and playing his music. Beat his wife when he felt like it and was the biggest pain in the ass ever.

I had to get a restraining order against him when he threatened to shoot my son because his friend pulled his car up the driveway to pick him up. What a winner..

I moved shortly after the threat and I should have moved months before but it was a financial hardship to do so.

I hope that bastard suffers a long painful death and his lying bitch wife that stood up for him in court goes with him. URGH

3. Tell me, is this wrong???

I'm seriously thinking of buying a copy of "Achy Breaky Heart", turning my speakers to the floor, turning up the volume loud enough where my downstairs neighbors hear it (but it doesn't disturb anyone else) and then leaving for a week.

4. I can understand your frustration, but things could go to hell in a hurry
if you do that. It's better to just move if you can. And here's what you do - try to move out a few days (or a week) before your lease is up. Leave your stereo behind (or better, buy a used beater for 30 bucks) and crank it up (with speakers pointed to the floor) just before you go out the door.

6. Where do I begin?
Edited on Sat Feb-28-04 07:11 PM by jmm
I'm a magnet for bad neighbors.

There is my upstairs neighbor who has hated me for years. We use to get along until we got into an argument over an ex of mine. Then she got upset since she's old enough to be my mother, therefore I should've just blindly accepted everything she said to me. Since then she's had a habit of lying to the neighbors and talking about me behind my back.

Then there is the couple across from her who likes to look in my windows. Their daughter has a habit of opening the dryer in the basements and going through my laundry with her friends.

Across from me is a family who listens to some of the most bizarre music ever. One of my "favorites" is what I like to call the barber shop quartet version of Jesus Christ Superstar. Lately I've started to just play my music louder until they get the hint and turn theirs off. They us to have sex really loudly until I started to play Marvin Gaye every time the wife started to fake it. Despite all of this they are actually the nicest people in the building.

Of course all of this is nothing compared to the bisexual wife beater who lived below me growing up :eyes:.

7. I live in rural upstate New York....
.... my wife and I both worked in human services, and so we value our privacy. We bought a 200+ year old house, which used to be a stage coach station, and our driveway was part of an old turnpike. After work, I would relax by building stone walls, etc. One evening, I heard a bulldozer in a field behind me. At first, I thought it was my neighbor. After a bit, I knew it was on my property. To make a long story short, a realtor had bought land way back yonder, (with frontage to two dirt roads) and decided to bulldoze a "new road" through my neighbor's and my property! She and her partner had destryoed a path stretching ten acres, knocking over very old stone walls, cutting down beautiful trees, and making a mess. She said the oonly way I could stop her was to buy the land at "her asking price." I had never met her before, and under normal (!) circumstance, would have discussed a price with her. As it went, however, I went to NYS Supreme Court to get an injunction to keep her way away from me. I considered going for damages, but there are difficulties in collecting from some people. I just never wanted to see her again!

8. My former next-door neighbor
The junk collector.

Not food containers, but electronic parts.

She was also a total slob.

When she was finally taken out of the place by the cops, all the appliances were so filthy they had to be thrown out, and it took 3 days for crews of 3 to take electronic parts out and throw them into a truck to take to the dump.
The place had to be totally re-painted and re-floored.

My former neighbor on the other side was a guy who had his parents pay his bills, (he's in his 20's,) and made extra money by illegally copying software.
He finally got busted, his computers were confiscated, his parents disowned the arrogant punk, and now he's living on the streets selling his blood for money.
