How do I buy a cheap replacement cell phone?
Edited on Thu Nov-13-08 03:25 PM by abernste
I looked on Ebay, but have no idea what to look for. I broke my phone and need another, but may switch plans soon and don't want to go all out.

1. ebay is the way to go
look for a phone that is compatible w/ your service provider. If you are not sure, call your service provider to find out.

2. If you want to be brainless about it
Search ebay for unlocked cell phones. Otherwise, stick with a phone you know your provider will support. Most if not all verizon phones are incompatible with other phone companies.

4. We use only prepaid. Get them at Walmart.
very cheap, get only as much time as you need, we have never had any problems with them in nearly 4 years.
No contract, no BS.

5. go to your service provider's site
and look for refurbished phones. When I had to upgrade to hands-free, I got a Blackberry for only an $8 upgrade fee. Do this even if you want to switch providers.
