2. The 486 is the last computer you'll ever need to buy!
The Japanese are crazy over laserdiscs. You might as well buy a player - it's bound to take off.

You should buy real estate now. You'll be a deemed a genius in 20 years for buying a condo during this boom.

Go ahead and sell your copy of No Doubts first 7 inch single. This is as big as they're ever going to get, you hate them, and we need beer money.

You two should get married. She's so in love with you - she'd never do you wrong.

3. when I was advised
to take on a business partner back in '00. If I hadn't, I would probably still have a business and wouldn't be working this stinking job. :(

12. When a prof told me
to take 7, 8 classes a semester to catch up to my graduating class (I lost a few credits when I transferred after getting my Associate's) because if I didn't graduate on time I would ruin my life.

Asshole.

My grades suffered as a result (surprise?), I wasn't sleeping well, and I nearly had an emotional breakdown (maybe had a small one), dropped the 2 classes I had with him, changed my major (so much for voice performance), and took an extra semester to graduate. That's all I needed. One fucking extra semester. Had they been willing to work with me on that extra semester, maybe things would be different. Maybe I wouldn't be resentful and bitter about undergrad, and unsure of where my life's going. Maybe. That school's gone downhill...

15. Never, EVER turn down ANY job you're offered
Thanks, mom. :eyes: It's taken me 42 years to unlearn that bit of indoctrination. Even now, as a freelancer with the freedom to turn down shite jobs, I have to listen to "Ooh, are you sure you should do that? It's good money..."

Yes, she is a workaholic who grew up during the Depression. How could you tell?
