but they rawk.

On Belle and Sebastian...they've been around a while. Not sure they can be called "new".

And TV On The Radio. Many more, but the line between pop, rock, and alternative is not very clear.

In terms of sheer sleaze, it makes Motley Crue sound like The Archies. :P

Are one of my favorite new bands. They would be much more famous if corporate radio didn't suck so much ass.

That's where the label gets muddy, though.. they could be power pop, indie pop, rock, etc.

That's a good start. I normally hate all accordion music but I'm going to keep listening. Thanks for the recommendation.

Almost forgot them. They kick serious rock n roll ass. Like a younger, better and more punk AC/DC. Of course, they don't get much radio airplay like all good new music.

I've noticed a dearth of good alternative and hard rock rock bands. Not too many Aerosmiths, Holes, Nirvanas, Pearl Jams and Stone Temple Pilots around. A lot of Nickelback clones and bad Slipknot-type metal IMO. So I'd like to add to my list.
