Well I got my lay off notice

Yesterday. The VP said I did really excellent work and he'd like to keep me but there was no money to budget for it. My last day is December 5.

I would ask her/him to write a letter of recommendation or something to help in your search for a new position. Unfortunately I think there will be many people going through this in the next year, our economy is headed for a major problem & nobody will be able to prevent it. The cards were dealt over the past eight years & now we have to play the hand.

Surprisingly, the ad for the job he landed last February was in the classifieds of the newspaper--not posted on-line! So, don't forget to check print classifieds, too.
