The Little Old Lady from Löningen |
|
No, not Pasadena. I don't know anyone in Pasadena. But my mother-in-law, although at 5'9" is not so little, is still pretty tough. She is 81, and needed 2 teeth pulled. The bridges the dentist put in place didn't sit right, and she called for an appointment to get them fixed.
Only trouble was, she lives in a tiny town in Northern Germany and has no car. She couldn't find anyone to drive her. So she got on her bicycle and rode 12 kilometers (7.5 miles or so) through the cold, windy rain of northern Germany in November, to her dentist, and when her teeth were fixed, rode the 12 kilometers back to her home.
If I ever make it to 81, I doubt I would ever be able to do that (and she's even sweet and nice to boot!!)

5. My mom is from Darmstadt |
|
Though that's technically incorrect since my mom was a Prussian refugee in the 40s. Anyhow, my mom kicks ass. I'm still scared shitless of her. And she can cook up potato pancakes and sausage like no one's business....
MMmmm. Potato pancakes. Sausage.
