I dreamed of my deceased cat this morning
It was sad. I woke up crying.

It's been over a year since we had to say goodbye to Bonnie, and it's amazing how she could still have such a hold on me even today.

But there's a silver lining - it's a reminder that every critter is special in his or her own way.

Doesn't ease the heartache much, though.

She was my special little girl.

2. I'd like to hear about the dream
It might do you some good too, to talk about it.
I dreamed of a dearly departed dog a few years after he died. I thought it was an emotionally significant dream.

4. My wife and I talked about it this morning
It felt like I had to go somewhere and leave Bonnie for a long time, and I gave her a big hug, and she responded by pressing her head and chin up against my neck, like she was despondent. I started to cry in the dream because I didn't want to leave her. Then I woke up.

Damn, I'm tearing up again...

5. Do you believe in an afterlife?
I do. Many people have dreams of people and pets who were dear to them. When the dreams are very emotionally charged, it may be a sign that the spirit of that person or pet visited you.

7. The "Rainbow Bridge" comes to mind...
I do believe in the broader concept of an afterlife, though.

3. RIP Bonnie, and Richard, our sweet boy
Richard is probably grooming Bonnie; he used to chew on my sister Bonnie's hair.
