Like everyone else, I've called all the local politicians, and there are no tickets to be had.
My one girlfriend, however, has 1) a cousin who lives in DC 2) a dad who used to be President of a national NGO. She thinks she may have a lead on....something. Driving me crazy not telling me.
I've offered to be her Giant White Girl Bodyguard/Sidekick/Navagatrix if she can hook me up with some access. But no details yet. Grrrrrr.
Anyone else trying to weasel something for Jan 21?

1. I know I won't have tickets. |
|
But I'm going (I live in the DC burbs). There is gonna be stuff for non-ticket holders as well..TV's etc..Places to watch the parade fromt the curb. See, this is for everyone, and usually they are pretty good about having events for us peeps without tickets.

2. If you can get to the Mall, and don't mind a very distant view of the Capitol |
|
then come on down. They'll have huge screens up and down the Mall for your "I was there!" pleasure. And you won't need a ticket.

A lot of things are just a day trip away.
If my girlfriend doesn't come through with tickets/accomodations, I'll start agitating for the local Dems to do a there-and-back-in-a-day bus trip like they did for Clinton's first inaugural.
I really want to be there.
(True story - my only brush with inauguration was a job interview in DC that was on the Monday before Reagan's 2nd Inaugural in 1985. I-95 was almost closed, and the temps went so low that a bottle of champagne in my car blew up. It was so awful, all the outdoor activities were cancelled.)
Say hello to the menagerie for me, Bertha! :hi:
