There is something ILLOGICAL about Spongebob Squarepants! |
|
Yeah, I know. But I've gotten 'hooked' somehow; it is an entertaining cartoon, after all.
My question is, during some episodes the characters use a sink, pail, or other water receptacles, and fill them with water. This makes no sense, because they are already UNDER water!! What is up with this?
I will NOT watch a cartoon if there is something in it that makes no sense!!! ;-)

Why do the Flintstones celebrate Christmas... love it.
Sort of like "Who was Caspar the Friendly Ghost before he died?" Richie Rich's stillborn twin?

You are right about that.
Also, why did all the old cartoon characters wear gloves?? Why only three fingers and a thumb?
Why did Donald Duck think himself naked, without his sailor suit, when he never wore pants anyway?
Why did Bugs Bunny always kiss people on the mouth, before he ran away?? Really odd, that one.
Serious issues here, guys. :D

9. Spongebob is very Freudian |
|
Think about it.
Patrick: Lazy, interested in food & sleep and his head is shaped like a penis. He is an anthropomorphic representation of the ID.
Squidward: Hyper-critical, thinks he's an artist but all his art mirrors himself. He is an anthropomorphic representation of the EGO.
Spongebob: An idealized version of an inner child with pure Buddha-light bliss. He is an idealized version of the enlightened SUPER EGO.
Note how all three are neighbors to each other. If you are faceing Spongebob's block it goes: Patrick's stone house, Squidwards's Idol house, and Spongebob's Pineapple. (ID, EGO, SUPER EGO.)

And that was in the 1960s, I don't remember studying Freud. But that is a nice theory; I will ask my psychologist friend what he thinks.

11. Wow, Brainshrub, that's brilliant. |
|
I had a conversation with my 5 year old nephew last night about Spongebob and his pineapple house. Then he described Squidward's house in great detail. It was so cool... and he thinks I'm cool for liking Spongebob as much as he does.

Interesting!
It is an enjoyable cartoon. I find I've actually liked in some of the ones I watch with my kids sometimes. :)

Despite Mr. Crab's greed, he does provide an important service to the Bikini Bottom community and he tries to do what's right most of the time.
What is most interesting is that Spongebob does not let Mr. Crabs greed get in the way of him enjoying his job. Spongebob does not allow jealously to cloud the satisfaction of a job well done.
ON EDIT: Crabs have hard shells, but they need them to survive a competitive environment and predators. (Just like businessmen need tough shells.)

Magnesium fires generate their own oxygen, and can burn underwater.
