I accidentally taught my son that a moose says "Hey, Rocky!" |
|
My son is almost two years old. A few days ago, we were going through some of his stuffed animals, and he was telling me what each one says ("Moo!" "Roar!" etc.). He had no idea what sound the moose made, so I said that the moose says "Hey, Rocky!" and made moose antlers behind my head (think Dave Coulier). Today, my wife had him over at my parents' house, and she asked him what the moose said. He told them "Hey, Rocky!"
My son is going to grow up very weird. :)

1. "Hey Rocky" is better than... |

..."Oh shit, it's Sarah Palin!"

7. Somewhere out there is a remix of the Rocky & Bullwinkle show |
|
with a techno beat and heavily resampled. Can't find it on youtube 'cause I don't know the title. It may have been the work of Alpha Team :)

3. You're teaching him well ... |

I refer to my boss as "Fearless Leader" and *no one* at work gets it.
Well, maybe that's not such a bad thing. :)

In the game Baldur's Gate: Shadows of Ahm, which inspires my sig line as well (yes, I'm obsessed), in one of the town areas near the circus tent is an animal cage that is otherwise unremarkable.
In it are a moose and a squirrel that wander around. Nice little easter egg.
Someone supposedly made a mod that lets you talk to them, with appropriate lines, but I haven't messed with it.

6. So I've always wondered |
|
What kind of sound does a moose make? Surely not "moo"!

Here's my conversation about animal noises:
What does the cow say?
Moo!
That's right, now what does the dog say?
Moo!
No, the dog says Woof. What does the dog say?
Woof!
That's right! What does daddy say?
Moo!
This was a month or two ago - now he knows a bunch more of them, but daddy still says moo, probably because my wife and I always crack up when he says that.

14. No, a moose says, "Who's a fig newton?", not "Hey, Rocky!" |
|
Bullwinkle slays me. Or used to.
Don't feel bad, one of my daughter's first word was "Albuquerque" (Elmo used to say it a lot....). Another first word was "curmudgeon" because her uncle was the quintessential poster child of such.
Words are great - let 'em play.
Ever read Walt Kelly? If not, treat yourself and find an old copy or two.

For quite awhile every time he would spot a...er well endowed woman dressed showing ample cleavage he would say that...quite loudly.
At the time it was
But looking back it's pretty much
