Update about Mrs. V. in Tennessee |
|
Edited on Sat Nov-15-08 12:51 PM by Bertha Venation
She's going to stay there another week. Her boss got her a wireless card, so she could work in case this happened. She's being driven crazy because everyone* but her dad smokes; they do it out on the enclosed porch, but they don't close the door into the house so what's the use? It's making her batshit crazy.
Her mom is a little better, but just a little. And she won't stop puttering, then she complains about her feet swelling. She doesn't seem to understand that she'll feel better if she'll just stay off her feet. Kathy is there to run the household -- that's not why she went home but that's what it's turned out to be. But mom just won't rest.
Her dad's okay . . . just okay. What can one say about fucking Alzheimer's? Suffice to say that her mom is overwhelmed with the burden, and one wonders how she goes on. I have no idea what that woman is running on, but she's a hundred pounds soaking wet, with emphysema (yet she smokes), congestive heart disease, colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and god knows what else. She's nearly eighty and she just keeps plodding along.
Please keep Kathy & her folks in your thoughts or prayers. Thanks to all my pals. :loveya:
* Mom, Kathy's two disabled brothers, who spend most of their days at mom's, her aunt, and her nephew.

1. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. |

It's probably her puttering and fussing that's keeping her going as ill as she is. Some folks just cannot slow down. When my husband is ill (severe ulcerative colitis) and in the midst of a flare up he pushes himself way more than anybody should. I often wonder how he does it. He says he can't just lay down and do nothing. Activity on any level keeps the system going. I think I'd just lay down and die. :(
:loveya:
a special  for all of you.

Thank you for the insight. I also figure she's puttered for 80 years and it's a hard habit to break. I'm sorry to hear your husband has colitis, too. It's a damnable disease.
Thank you for your :loveya: - it's mutual.

5. You, Kathy and her family are in my thoughts |
|
Mom's beem barely able to putter at all after a series of TIA's, arthritis, neuropathy, and poor medication choices by doctors who meant well, yet did not understand the disease.
Huge loving vibes for strength, for healing, and for Kathy, whose task is an enormous and often thankless one.
