I am more than a bit concerned about our fires right now. I am likely not going to sleep tonight (or at all until they get some containment on these fires).

How do they reload? Do they scoop, somehow, or do they have to land?

9. I have no clue.

I think they probably have to reload at a big airport (like LAX). They also have the "super scoopers" which are smaller planes that do go scoop water from reservoirs/bodies of water.

10. I'd guess its parked at San Bernardino airport.

They have the capacity to park and load DC-10s. So when they go back out in the morning they'll be closer to the blaze and be able to reload faster.

The plume of smoke is passing north of us so our air quality is not terrible.

12. Yeah I'm fine.

I was staying at a friend's house in Orange last night. I got back to the house OK and everything is intact. I had some neighbors that weren't so lucky but it was pretty frightening. Due to the close proximity of one fire I kept expecting to see my house on the news. My neighborhood looks like a fucking war zone.

We stayed safe from the fires this time. Closest it got was about 10 miles away.
