I just got back from my grandma's funeral.
She passed away suddenly on Tuesday. We spent last Saturday with her to celebrate her 83rd birthday, and she seemed to be a little congested. I guess she was tired after all that she had done in her lifetime. She and my grandpa had 13 kids, and my grandpa died 3 months after the youngest was born. So, now, after 40 years, my grandparents are finally together again. That makes me very happy for her. She let behind 84 children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The entire church was full for her mass this morning despite the snow and the rain. She was a loving and caring woman, and I'm lucky to have had her for my grandma.

Rest easy, Grandma Marie. I love you. Your work here is done.

5. Wow
What a long and fruitful life. I know it's sad for everyone she left behind but how wonderful that she's reunited with her husband.

I just went to the funeral of my boss' mother-in-law on Thursday; she was 93, had eleven kids, 44 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. There was a lot of love along with the tears at the funeral.

9. It was bittersweet.
It's amazing how many children those early 20th century women had! It boggles my mind. I'm afraid to do it once.

7. A life well lived

I know you miss her terribly. I'm sure she knows how much she meant to you. Now she can rest and catch up with your grandfather.

She sounds like an amazingly strong woman.

11. Very well lived.
And full of love.

I have inherited some of her talents, so I know she'll always be with me. That's worth it's weight in gold.

13. Oh!
And on the way home, on 75 south just past Findlay, there was a horrible wreck. We were stuck for an hour. When we went past, I was praying that there was no passenger in the one car. It was just awful.

People should know better than to drive crazy in rain/sleet/snow. :(
