I have two more hours of work to go after being in this place all freaking night and a co-worker and I are debating weather or not there is such a thing as soul mates. Anyone??? I say I don't think so but I am a bit of a cynic. Again, anyone???

1. I guess that depends on how you define the term. |
|
If you mean some mystical concept, fated and foretold, then no, I don't think so,
But if you mean that there is someone out there who is more perfect for you than anyone else ever could be...well, I'd say yes.

9. I don't look at it that way |

In my experience Some people get lucky early on and meet their "soul mate". They marry young, and are happy for 30-60 years. I thought I had met mine, and he would have said the same thing at the time I'm sure, but we split up when I began having problems with severe depression. He didn't know how to handle it, and didn't want to learn, or help. So now I doubt he was a soul mate. Had he been, he would have tried to understand and stood by me while I got help, and got well. If both people are not willing to work through things that happen, work through the hard times, even if they are your soul mate, it won't matter.
I don't know how old you are, but don't give up. Make a happy life for yourself, and learn to be happy with yourself, and you'll be surprised who shows up!

That's exactly what happened for me after years of searching for someone. I was 37 and single. I had a really good job, owned my home. I decided that was going to be the way it was and decided to accept that and be content with it. Within months, I met my now SO in a casual chat on the internet and we've been together now over 11 years. Never felt more comfortable with any person in my life.
I think when you are looking, you give off those vibes. When you stop doing that and are comfortable in your own skin, folks can get a little closer to you and things happen!

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x8244265If anybody votes yes, I guess that means yes. (I'm leaning towards a yes in my own case, though we're in a rocky patch at the moment so I couldn't just give you an unqualified yes myself.)

8. Ok, two guys walk into a bar... |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 01:26 PM by peruban
which is kinda funny if you think about it because after the first guy walked into it the second guy should have seen it coming.
(I also do bar and bat mitzvahs, weddings, karaoke night (I do a great rendition of Ace of Base's "All That She Wants" and The Devinals "I touch myself", interpretive jazz dance, musical theater, birthdays, and wakes. Trust me on this, you have more fun at a birthday than a wake).
