Poll question: What will you miss about Bush?
I know, the reflexive answer is "not much." But that is kind of what I mean. I have developed a certain patter of thinking during the past eight years. What part of that will be the hardest to give up. (You may infer an "other" option by posting something.)

The opportunity for everyone who wants to to be able to do a breathy, fake-Texas-accent impression and get away with it. Dumbya was such a cartoon character to begin with, it was just easy for anyone and everyone to impersonate his stupid affectations.

That, and being able to totally disrespect the office of the president, and being justified in doing so.

However, that doesn't mean I'm gonna miss the fucker.

4. I know it.
They must have been rooting for InSain/Falin. The jokes would write themselves.

6. Yeppers
And wasn't there some lament by comedians recently that there isn't anything "good" to make fun of with Obama? Gee, the hardship...a president you can respect and take seriously!

9. I think a beneficial side effect of the end of the Bush pResidency is
that comedians will once again have to be really talented to succeed. Like you said, Bush was just too easy!

12. Oh gawds how could I?
That one drives me INSANE. I get the feeling we haven't heard the last of it, considering even Palin was using it as a code for the redneck repukes ("If you're an anti-intellectual redneck idiot, I'm talking to YOU!") while simultaneously trying to distance herself from the idiot-in-chief who made it part of the Washington lexicon. If we can manage to keep her out of the lower 48 between now and 2012, we'll still end up with someone else who'll dredge it up. Ugh. x(

14. Definitely Letterman's "Great Moments..."
My favorite part of the show, sadly enough, since Bush* makes a fool of himself daily, but I try to never miss it, especially since Dave reminds us us that the days of this segment are numbered...:-(

My SO and I had a great time when we were in the audience earlier this year, despite the fact that Dr. Phil was the main guest, since Dave is always good and extremely cordial to his audience. I even applauded when he announced that it was Dick Cheney's birthday, got an elbow in the ribs for that, but were were instructed to applaud and not boo, to encourage Dave, and I know how Dave feels about Cheney and was waiting for the punchline...:-)

I remember when Biff ran around in hunting attire, shooting at random, after Cheney "shot an 85-year-old man in the face..." But I think that this clip was my favorite: :applause:
