Who has a 3G iPhone? Should I get one? |
|
It's time for an upgrade, and I'm debating whether to get one of those or the BlackBerry Bold. I've done an online comparison and really am undecided. Your thoughts?

2. I have the BB Pearl and love it |
|
But I've dropped it several times and the keys are sticking a lot. I've read that battery life and coverage are really bad on the iPhone - have you had problems with either of those?

5. As far as battery, you just have to get used to charging it every night. |
|
That's just a given.
Haven't had a coverage problem.

9. Yes, I do too with the BB |

As long as I'm not checking my email constantly or Googling things I'm all right. I guess that wouldn't be so much of a problem.

They are totally in love with their iPhones.
I'm a Mac lover from way back, but I just don't talk on the phone enough to pay for the monthly plans. If I ever give up my landline (and I may do so if a whole year ever passes without me needing my fax machine), I might transition to an iPhone, but right now, I'm in love with my iPod Touch, which does everything that an iPhone does except make calls.

Yes, it does a lot of things that I really don't need it to do and that are totally frivolous, but I'm kind of a gadget freak and I think it's just cool and fun.

6. The answer to your first question is too long to give here; nor do I feel like digging the data up. |
|
As to your second question (and your third question) - I don't know. They are really cool, but (IMO) they're still awfully expensive for what is, in essence, and unnecessary toy for the most part.
I won't be getting one until the prices go way down - I just don't need the extras it has. All I really need from a phone is to make phone calls (though I do love the alarm function of my cell phone, too). I don't so much need the camera, electronic scheduler, sock folder, and drain unstopper and all the other crazy crap that's on the iPhone.

No, wait ... Get the iPhone. We both have one and are loving it. BlackBerrys are nice, though, but I could never manage their little keyboard, nor could I see the advantages they have over the iPhone at this point. With the iPhone, you have almost everything in the palm of your hands, a browser, email, contacts (call them or text them with a single tap) as well as a bucnh of free and useful apps, especially the ones where you can transfer files from your PC/MAC directly to the iPhone. Stuff that a Blackberry lacks.

What free app allows you to transfer files to the iPhone from my Mac?
I have been looking for that.

The Google Maps with GPS is killer. "Uh, honey, according to the little blue pin, we missed our exit." Unlike Rabrrrrr, I do like all the little extra apps you can run on it.

I LOVE the GPS feature for exactly that reason, except in my case, it is taxi cab drivers, not my Significant Other.
