98. she was a pound pup, abandoned by her owner at the river at about 9 months old
that pic of her is several years old now, she's gotten to be a VERY old girl now, mostly blind and deaf, scaly skin poor thing.

as close as we can figure, she's about 15 now and I fear we'll lose her soon.

but she's had a long and happy life with us and is a VERY good girl and always has been.

Scout is the uber terrier and Stinky is the nice but surly cat. Together they are the pet KGB.

Gordon is a great dog but at 8 months, he still thinks mouthing is playing. I think they took Gordon from his Poodle mom too early.

29. not in the sense of biting us but in the chewing sense absolutely
As a pup she had a real fondness for wires -- mouse wires, keyboard wires, speaker wires, vacuum cleaner cords, you name it. Fortunately she's never bitten into something plugged in so she never got hurt. She's 3 now and she's usually got a toy in her mouth.

Edited on Tue Nov-18-08 12:07 AM by mvd
He's friendly to all and smart about so many things, but he just doesn't get it about the mouthing. I try to divert his attention to a toy. Was wondering if you had the same problem with yours and what worked.

68. zero.
I've never liked dogs (I know that's a minority opinion) and they are a sinus irritant for me.

I'm allergic to cats and don't really want a box of shit in the house.

Except for that, I really like cats. I like how they always just show up for whatever one is doing. They're not super-needy like dogs are.

We'll probably have some rabbits when we get the cellar cleaned out. I'm not allergic to them and my wife really likes them. The last two we had would not sit on my feet so I could tell people I had bunny slippers made from real fur. Apparently my feet were too cold and too lumpy for that.

69. 1 cat, no dogs...
Edited on Tue Nov-18-08 11:33 AM by Rob H.
although Summer is very affectionate and tends to hang out wherever I am. I don't know if I'd use the word "own," though, since she's more like my fuzzy sidekick than anything.

I like dogs, I just don't have one. I'd love to adopt a retired racing greyhound if I ever get into a house instead of my small apartment.

73. Dogs: 1 Cats: 0
Planning on adding another dog early next year. Mrs. av8rdave is severely allergic to cats, so as much as I like them, they are not an option.

We had a Bichon that passed away in the fall (cancer), and would like another - he was a great dog! Our current dog is supposedly a Bichon, but I think there is a blend of something else in there (the build isn't quite perfectly Bichon-ish). He's as dumb as a small soap dish, but very lovable.

A Chihuahua name Niña who is nine or so years old, an attention loving red nosed pit bull named Ali about six years old, and a beautiful adoring Beagle named Charlie who's about four.

Sorry I have no pics, but rest assured that these are the cutest dogs on earth.

84. One cat pwns me.
Think about it:

I get up at 5:30 in the morning to go off and earn the cat food.

He yells at me because I disturbed his sleep spot.

He yells at me at treat time.

He yells at me at dinner time.

He yells to be let out.

He yells to be brought back in again.

He yells if he disapproves of the cat box care.

He yells if he disapproves of anything.

He tells me if there is one more or less "crummybutton" in his food dish than is exactly suitable to his taste.

He gets to sleep in the same spot for hours while I toil to support him.

I exist at his mercy, I sleep at his whim, I open windows, adjust pillows, even enter and leave rooms as he sees fit.

No, I got pwnd by The Cat.

92. 2 cats
Brianna, a fuzzy, semi-long haired calico with double paws. She's got the chirpy, chatty Maine Coon voice, and she's a big loveable mushball.

Pippy, The Lovely and Talented Pip Cat, a "peanut butter" colored striped tabby. Mischievous, she's really sweet when she wants to be, usually at 4:30 AM.

95. 1 Dog & 1 Cat
The dog is a pomeranian (Ringo) I paid $818 for him and I love him.

The cat is a ...something (Tiger) my wife rescued from freezing to death about 2 yrs ago. I initially wanted to name him, "Nice Guy Eddie" after the Reservoir Dog character, but it turns out the cat is a major prick with a obsessive foot fetish.

So in short, I love my dog. The cat ehhh not so much.

104. Three cats live with me
but that's because our two older kittehs have moved in with the STBE. There are many things wrong with the STBE, but a disdain for cats is not one of them. All five in order of acquisition: Maximouse, BenBen, Muezza, Freyja and Wolfie. We have also fostered during the last year James, Brenda and Orion (or Onion, as we called her), all of whom have been placed in loving homes. Conjointly they have clawed the leather couch to ribbons, de-stuffed my grandmother's antique pink silk-upholstered chair and more recently, stepped on the uniced bottom layer of the birthday cake I was building for the daughter of a friend. In short, they are a neverending nuisance and definitely one of my great joys.

It's really ridiculous, how we love our furbabies. Too bad I'm the worst photographer in the world or I'd post decent photos.
