Our "lite rock" station is playing "wall to wall" Christmas music.

1. A station here started on November 1st

24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unbelievable...

2. That stuff starts on Thanksgiving around here.

Two stations do it--the "light rock" station as well as the "big hits of the 60s and 70s" (a watered-down "classic rock") station. It's sort of cool, though...the light rock one, at least, goes commercial-free starting at 6 PM on Christmas Eve and plays straight music through to December 26th. Just when it starts to get truly annoying, it's over. :D

7. That's when it used to be here. I find this really annoying, because in my faith tradition,

Christmas ends on January 5th--well after these morans have stopped playing Christmas music and started putting away their decroations. I'll really begin to relax and celebrate ON Christmas Day--when everybody else is done. :banghead:

I went shopping for a birthday gift for my grand nephew. Christmas music was playing at the outlet store. I mentioned it to the clerk. She told me the store started playing Christmas music November 1.

... the format has been proven time and time again. People will flip the station for Christmas music.

WMAG has already flipped here and they usually flip for Christmas. But this year they flipped before my birthday (Nov 12th).

Next door Q-99 (WSLQ) is going Christmas this weekend, as is next door WRAL-FM (gotta include the FM, they own the TV too). Y102.9 out of Raleigh is also Christmas now.

Dunno about Charlotte, I don't follow that radio market.

I let out a yelp that made my kids fear we were about to have a car accident. I can sort of understand having outdoor decorations up because you don't want to do that in the bitter cold but a tree? already? Oy.
