Really bad news... need some support |
|
I've been sick for the last week, went to the doctor Friday, and he ordered a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia.
I didn't have that, but instead they found a "spot" on the lung. I'm freaking out, get a CT scan tomorrow, and hopefully it will be ok.

I've been where you are...
They found a spot on my chest xray, and they said it could be either a blood clot, or pneumonia...:scared:
Turned out it was pneumonia, and I got antibiotics, and after two weeks I was essentially cured.
Hang in there!

Get some rest. I hope it is nothing. But if it is something, be thankful you caught it early. Good luck with your CT scan.

for the kind thoughts...
I'm going to take a prescribed sleeping pill now...
I know that the statistics are on my side, I'm just really nervous.

13. Praying it's just a mistake |
|
Had a freak out moment myself when my son was small. They took an X-Ray in the ER where I'd taken him for some breathing problems, and told me his heart was enlarged and he could die. Turned out he'd just moved during the X-ray, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with his heart.
Hopefully that spot will just turn out to be a scar from an old infection. Those are fairly common.

and please let us know what happens tomorrow, OK?
It's hard not to worry, but I've been where you are - not with the lungs, but having to go back for further testing, and it all was OK. Odds are, you're fine.

19. and it could just be a "smudge" on the x-ray... |
|
x-ray is the "kodak box camera" of medicine.
something on the lens, a fingerprint, a mishandling of the film...
relax.
get the ct scan, and then look at the results.
until then, don't worry...
