I've taken the bold step of applying at an ethnic media newsroom
For many reasons, chief among them is that I hate my current newsroom as it gets more and more pathetic each day. And with Vancouver being the most diverse city worldwide, and that not changing anytime soon, I think that an ethnic station may be the only sure bet to keep a job as their audience keeps increasing every year. They do newscasts in Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjab, Korean, Japanese, Italian, and a few others. So, it's a big news operation.

I also want to learn mandarin, so that'll help. AND I'll hopefully get into the ethnic communities while keeping my mainstream contacts to make me some kind of super-journalist.
