I have to say, BabyMidlo cracks me up.
I took BabyM and BoyM out for Japanese last night and we started talking about Christmas presents. I started to stress that it was important that they realized how the economy was struggling we needed to cut back, blah, blah, blah.

My yearly 'I'm dreaming of a Lite Christmas' rant.

Anyway, BabyM goes up to talk to Mr. M when we get home and he gives her a dollar amount that we will spend on each of them.

Today, at my desk, I find an index card with the precise price of everything along with the amount of a gift card.

She is leaving nothing to chance now that she knows we know she doesn't believe in the big guy.

1. Shake her up by giving her more than her list requests.
And label the unexpected gifts "From Santa". ;)

2. LOL. I should. Right now the list looks like the American Girl
catalog. :eyes:

As if my office doesn't already look like a scene for Bride of Chuckie.

3. nice
How old? I was a bad kid. I don't ever remember really believing in Santa Claus. I had a big brother who was a bad influence - I remember our sister, who is older than me, looking out the window waiting for Rudolph on Christmas eve, and telling her that Santa wasn't real. I suck, but your kid is awesome.

9. My son, who is 16, was skeptical from the time he was 2.
Kid you not. I remember him at 2 (wearing his cowboy boots, which he put on as soon as he got out of bed) and the little cotton Toy Story pajamas squatting and looking up the fireplace wondering out loud how Santa got down there? He's fatter than that.

Fortunately, The Santa Clause came out not too long afterwards and it explained away a ton of stuff which bought me some time.

He was a total contrast to TeenMidlo who insisted we tell Santa to leave the toys 'across the street at Annette's' because the thought of a strange man in her house terrified her.

Kids are funny.

Hope you're having a better day.

4. that is so funny!
"lite Christmas" What's that?

I tried to explain to little mb that Santa was going to really step it up for kids whose parents are no longer employed and she says "I know, I shortened my list"

The list includes:

Barbie Diamond Castle
Black n Decker Junior tool set
video game system (any)
Guitar Hero (any)
laptop
cell phone

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

6. laptop? That is hilarious.

Kids are so damned funny. Last year when we were renovating the kitchen and painting downstairs and getting new furniture,( after almost 19 years, TYVM) I told the kids that we weren't going to spend any more money because Christmas was coming.

BabyM says "Mom, it's okay, Santa will buy us our stuff".

Mr. and I looked at each other and I cleared my throat and said "Baby, do you talk about Santa at school? (mind you, she was 11 and in sixth grade)

Without missing a beat, she says "Mom, of course not. There are too many Jewish kids in my school"

Swear to God, I thought she still believed. Instead she was completely playing us.

7. I did. But all those websites require me to state that I'm at least 18.
What is up with that?

13. Scare her in to submission
Tell her you know a family who got nothing but home made gingerbread and hard candy in funny little hand made boxes for christmas.

That would be my family. This year. And friends. Ho ho fucking ho, it's a welfare Christmas!
