Billyskank, samosas, and a kitty (Lots of pics ... warning!)
On the exercise mat, but not exercising. Just making friends. :loveya:

Samosas in the making. First, get the dough ready. That's Chef Billyskank in harleydad's apron. Don't laugh -- my Gram made it years ago.

Kitty help from billyskank's new friend. Pssst ... kitty ... samosas don't have any meat in them ...

Stuffing them takes an expert:

The cooking shows really should call us:

Here's the chef frying them. Don't know where his hat went.

The final stack of samosas ... were they ever delicious! :9

Thanks, billyskank! :hi:  :loveya: :yourock:

That's my Satchmo. Does he talk a lot? He never shuts up! I'm pretty sure the book I read on Abyssinians said they're quiet. Obviously, he skipped over that part.

11. Super smart is right.
His mom isn't as smart as he is, though, and she's a little ... uh ... funny. She teases, "please come and pet me?" But when you go near her, she runs away. Then if you finally catch her, she purrs, "I thought you'd never come!" I think Satchmo got his dad's personality.

Satchmo has his own "song" that he sings. Sort of "ow-owwwww, ow-owwwwww" over and over. He especially likes to sing in an empty room so he can listen to the echo.

:hi:

I never had samosas before billyskank came last year. We cooked them then, too. I'm not a big fan of Indian food, but I do like the food he makes -- ESPECIALLY the samosas! I doubt they have such things at the farmer's markets around here. What do they put inside theirs?

28. I just LOVE Indian food!
The farmer's market serves them either with meat or veggies, which is nice. Now the farmer's market has moved indoors, and one of the stands had stuffed chicken wings. Never seen anything like them. They were huge, and filled with veggies. You could get them with either a sweet or spicy sauce. I chose spicy and yup, sauce sure was spicy, but good.

Sheesh, all this talk of food is making me hungry.

Yesterday we had snow showers here. Very depressing seeing those white flakes all over the place. Good thing it quit, and nothing lasted. But then, it's that time of year again, so I shouldn't complain.

I think the older I get the more I dislike cold weather.

How the heck do you get anything inside a chicken wing? Sounds mighty tasty!

Yeah, it's making me hungry too ... and I just ate!

We had snow too, just blowing around. There was a light dusting in the morning, but it didn't last long. I have always disliked cold weather. I do miss the South FL winters! But it's tolerable with a fire in the fireplace. Just don't make me go outside! Brrrrr!

Yes, I love that. My new place has a fireplace, and it's fun throwing a couple of logs, starting a fire, and just relaxing with a good book.

Gotta go, heading out to a few meetings.

That was fun. Makes a mess of the kitchen, but that's just the way it is.

The apron and hat were necessary. I had my own apron on ... well, it was ANOTHER one Gram made for harleydad. No hat, though.

Good thing the other kitties weren't helping, or the samosas would have been furry.

34. Thank you!
He's an Abyssinian and his name is Satchmo. He's 10 years old ... will be 11 in February. He's the sweetest, most lovable kitty in the world. We also have his mom, but she's a bit shy and completely different from him. He's more like his dad. He likes to be held like a baby and he gazes into my eyes and touches my cheek while I rub his tummy. I've never had any other kitty behave this way.

We almost lost him to inflammatory bowel disease about 3 1/2 years ago. Not unusual for the breed. He requires a diet of raw food (flame bait around here). Even grain free dry or canned food, if given more than once in several days, causes him to have a bout of IBD.

Oh, and he likes to knock things over for attention. Hence, everything is stuck down with museum wax.

Anything else? :D

40. I'm pretty sure it's non-toxic.
But you put it on the bottom of things and stick the thing to the shelf or whatever. Not likely they will actually get to it. Mine have never been interested in finding out why the objects don't move anymore. LOL!

Satchmo is so wonderful. I see MissHC answered beautifully! They do get along, but Sabrina has never been much of a mother to him. She's actually more maternal towards the younger kitties we have adopted in the past few years. I think she was too young when Satchmo was born.

45. Pretty Abbys
My Lily is half-Aby and 18 years old. She's a sweet cat but mean in her old age toward my new tuxedo boy. Her mother looked just like those two. She is always with me when I'm home.

When she was young she was quiet, but now she has this old craggy meow and loves to hear herself talk! I don't know if living with a Siamese for 10 years has taught her that or not.

:loveya: How long have you had the tuxedo boy? Most of our oldsters warmed right up to the youngsters, but our Russian Blue is afraid of them all. Sometimes I wish I could get into a kitty's head.

My Abys are both very talkative. Satchmo sings all the time. I guess that's not exactly what Lily is doing?
