1. What show was it which showed a brazillion Cat Stevens records being burned...
... after he converted to Islam?

Was it that nutty-assed Real People, or some other show? Maybe the evening news? Damn I hate forgetting stuff like this.

I was still a pre-pubescent at the time, maybe 9 or 10, and part of me wanted to buy into the right-wing propaganda thinking "OH NOES HE DONE BECOMED EEEEEEEVILLLL!!"

But the seeds of the man I am now were already firmly planted and I figured that if my own family's Catholic religion could run inquisitions and crusades, and burn innocent women and men at the stake for their money, how much worse could Islam really be?

I loves me some Cat Stevens every now and then, and good on him for doing what he feels is best for himself. :yourock:

2. Is records burning an old Murkan tradition ?
Look at what happened when Lennon said: "We're more popular than Jesus now".

3. I only remember the big disco fiasco at the baseball game...
... and the Cat Stevens record burning craze. Both of these happened in the same general time period.

I may have named myself after a prog rock band, but I grew up with disco and most of it was fine by me. Same with Cat Stevens as I already said. I could never understand the whole record burning thing. Just dumb.

6. There are two kinds of people in this world
the kind that want peace and the kind that doesn't. Just my opinion.
