I'm about to start writing my first manga

Hi DUers!

I have decided to start writing my first manga comic :-) and if there any DU manga fans or anyone curious, I'd like to run the basis storyline here for your comments and suggestions:


The title of my manga shall be "Mobile Suit Centauri Gundam", and here are the main features that will make it unique... 1) the protagonist will be a black mobile suit pilot (actually half black/half japanese), as well as many of the characters also being biracial. The Gundam series has always been quite good with being multi-cultural, so I'd like to continue with this direction.

2) i will use ALOT of recent historic events for the storyline, in particular a major 9/11 event which wipes out an entire space colony, a rush to judgement leading to a certain group of space citizens being labeled terrorists and a threat to the security of Earth (Patriot Act, renditions and secret spying on civilians, etc), and a certain large corporation benefitting form the chaos..and even provoking MORE heavy handed ruling. I will have the infamous."you are either with us, or the terrorists" statement among the very first lines spoken.

3) One particular space colony is threatened with a preemptive invasion if they don't comply with the Earth government's demands, so the leaders of said space colony seek out help from anyone who would assist in perserving their right of self rule, and this is where the "Centauri" come in; the Centauri were falsely accused of terrorism, only to vanish beyond Earth territory. But now with war alsmot certain, and with so much at stake, rumors of the Centauri returning from the stars has everyone on edge...
