I usually go with an all veggie but I try to be easy going with my family/friends and I don't want to be the "paranoid won't eat anything" guy, so sometimes we get something different.
I know pepperoni is beef, but what do you think "sausage" is at most pizza places. At the one I frequent they have "Italian Sausage" which I think is all pork but I'm not sure, and regular "Sausage" which I don't know either but it may be half beef/pork.
In general I avoid both but I'd like to know which is which.

In fact I just heard a story from a coworker that was having pizza at a Orthodox Jewish house. The mother was so upset that they had sausage on their pizza that she took the plates away and buried them in the backyard after they were done eating....

4. pepperoni is pork; and for the most part, anything that's just "sausage" is pork |

Most companies/places/whatevers, if they use something other than pork, will include the meat name in the sausage name, such as "beef sausage" or "venison sausage". Good chance that those, though, also contain pork. An exception, of course, is "Italian sausage" which doesn't describe the meat in it (thank God) but instead the style of flavorings, and which is a pork sausage.
There's no law about it, but I think most places are pretty consistent with this.
Except at SOteric's house. Take her quite literally if she offers Italian sausage. I'm just sayin'. :scared:

In other words, you wouldn't want to see it being made.

I'm pretty sure pepperoni is beef or a beef/pork mixture in case it matters, but I don't know. verywhere I looked listed it that way but who knows.

7. I would assume a combination of beef and pork for both "sausage" and "pepperoni"--unless |
|
it's Italian sausage (which ought to be but probably isn't required to be pork) or unless it's specifically labeled as one or the other. Pepperoni can be made with beef, pork, or both. Incidentally, here's an ingredient statement for Pizza Hut, which might be useful as a general guide: http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:_peKvmP1JJ4J:www.pizzahut.com/Files/PDF/ph_ingredients.pdf+Pizza+Hut+pepperoni+ingredients&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us
