How long did it take to stop moving the mouse and just the ball.

I am getting better but I still want to move the mouse.

I love my new mouse.

Wish I would have bought one a long time ago.

1. Trackballs are nice...
My dad was very pleased to get his, because using a regular mouse hurt his wrists somewhat, so a trackball worked out well for him. I had one for a while too, because it was comfortable. But I had the "old fashioned" kind that had mechanical positioning sensors and these got jammed up regular (like the ball in a regular old-fashioned mouse, just upside down and all the dirt went down into it). My dad's trackballs don't jam up because they're optical. But when my mechanical trackball died, I was not in a position to buy a new one (they're more expensive than regular mice) and just plugged in an old regular mouse, and never got a new one again.

But I never started moving it around like a regular mouse, because firstly when I started using a computer I didn't have a mouse, just a keyboard... and then when I first started using a pointing device regularly it was a trackball I started using. On a BBC computer, attached to the system for the playback of the Domesday Project.

2. My old mouse died so I thought I would give this kind a chance.
I really like it.

It is optical, wouldn't buy another kind.

This one was on sale, it was cheaper then the other mice.

3. That's all I've used for years. One of young people was telling me recently
that my keyboard tray needed to be tilted lower at the front or else my wrist would suffer with the angle of the trackball. She was absolutely right.

4. Good advice.
It is so strange not moving the mouse around.

5. Is it the kind of roller ball Jonathon E. would use?
(Crickets chirp as people born after 1973 wonder what the hell I am referring to).

6. It takes a few days to get the hang of it, but after that you wonder
how you ever put up with the other kind.

8. I have tendonitis in my right arm
I'd be miserable without a trackball mouse.

9. I understand about your arm.
I have had tendonitis in my left knee on and off since spring.

So far my knew feels great but I need to trust the knee more.

10. I gave those up years ago. I have a Scroll Wheel USB mouse and I love it!

I don't need a mouse pad and I love the 3rd button in the middle, which is a wheel. ;)
