5. Pretty sure the way I say it is correct....
My mother (as odd as it sounds for a French based word) is an English teacher and thats the way I've heard her say it.

7. You are correct - Bo-coo is French, Boo-coo was GI in the old days...
Many Vietnamese spoke French in those days - it was the country's second language because they had been a French colony for many years.
