It's Been Snowing Since Noon ...
It’s been snowing since noon.

There is something about its icy coolness that warms the heart; something in its crystal-like shimmering that reflects the light of the soul a thousand-fold, and reminds it of its own ability to transcend the darkness

There is something that feels like forgiveness in the way it covers the dirty streets and sidewalks, and offers an empty canvass on which to leave one’s footprints, as old boots tread upon its newness – and perhaps choose a slightly different path

There is something enticing in the way it blankets the city, like a freshly turned-down bed that beckons children to sleep and dream of Christmas, and lovers to anxiously possess the warmth that lies in each others’ embrace

There is something about its chilly aloofness that causes strangers to cling to each other as though they were old friends, insistent on traversing its slippery wetness together, hand-in-hand - undaunted, undeterred, unafraid

There is something in its inherent arrogance that inflames the few, those strong enough to withstand its initial chill in order to venture forward, to seek out the heat that lies on the other side of cold-shouldered dismissal, cold-blooded indifference, cold-hearted abandonment

There is something hypnotic about the way it draws the eye to flickering candles set on distant windowsills, or the reflection of a fireplace, warm and ablaze, on a string of icicles that loom above a doorway – a sparkling spider’s web that invites one to shed their fear and enter the parlour beyond, come what may, the consequences be damned

There is something about the silence it creates, as its stillness settles over the din – as it quiets the soul and eases the mind, and allows one to hear the things God whispers into hearts now calm, serene, vulnerable – and open to persuasion.

You make me wish I lived in snow...

This is purely and simply prose poetry...

Exquisite, fragile, lovely...

Thank you, sweetie...
