I used the term "Nigerian Scam" because it's known most widely outside of Vice Bureau society. I believe you're right on the origins; updated for digital mass-communication!

Gives a little psychological jolt when first read.

I like the "Iris" bit. Inventive. With the "accent" displayed by the text, it would seem that 'Iris' would have difficulty pronouncing her name.

Iris went abit over the top with the Master Degree bit, that's what tipped me toward believing it was a scam. Hard to reconcile with the bad English.

13. I didn’t get to read Iris’s post, it was removed before I was able to.

However, thank you for the link. From what the link reads, I think this recent troll incident is related to the boycotts going on regarding mormon businesses.

Because of the mormon actions regarding prop 8, there has been a call for boycotting mormon businesses on a few forums.

If you know anything about mormons, you know they relate to the Jews. They feel they are in the same boat re: persecution.

I would think, if the troll postings were similar to the posting at the link, that we are dealing with someone sympathetic to the mormon cause and trying to show us the error of our ways regarding the calling for boycotts.

It's suspicious that someone in trauma would sign up to a new message board to share that message. If it's real, a victim advocacy agency can help her. Strangers on a surly political message board are probably not in the position to influence an investigation.
