OMG I just agreed to rent the house I wanted to buy.
The owner was/is a friend of mine and she's willing to let me lease-to-own the place. I had to make a decision very quickly, as did the STBE but he agreed.

This is a strange stroke of good luck and it makes me dizzy.

6. Me too!
The beauty of this place is, my friend bought it for a certain price, and then put forty thousand bucks into a new kitchen, a new half bath, and wall insulation. It needs no cosmetic improvements whatsoever, although one of the living rooms is pale blue which to me is too gloomy in Maine.

:woohoo:

10. I'm still sort of in shock.
The girlfriend went through the same thing as I am now, a divorce, a huge step down from the mansion to the three-bedroom. She's even had the contracter-type boyfriend and unemployment. The only difference is, her parents finance her whole existence. Anyhow, she wants to help me out.

Hey jasonc. Wanna finance my whole existence?

12. It is, isn't it?
She hasn't been able to sell it so she was about to just take it off the market and rent it out. I am getting a great deal here, which makes me think that something bad has to happen, like it burns to the ground. :P

21. I would love to be in the desert, or at least in Oregon
but my kids want to stay here, and their father is here. I dream of living somewhere where roses grow...
